National Farmers Market Week 2010 is August 1-7th, and it will be here before we know it!
Last year, FMC asked people to tell us why they love farmers markets. This year, we’re giving you a platform to share ideas for celebrating and communicating the benefits of farmers markets in your community/state during National Farmers Market Week.
Are you hosting a ribbon-cutting? An heirloom tomato tasting? A state-wide radio campaign? A fundraiser? A raffle? A recipe contest? Are you engaging community partners? Are state agencies playing a role?
To tell us what you’ve got planned, use the ‘reply’ form below. And please, share this page with your friends!

In Camas, WA, we will host our 2nd Annual Veggie Derby! Families can bring homemade veggie mobiles from home or make them right at the market to race down our track. Prizes will be awarded for most creative car, most veggies used, fastest car & car that goes the farthest.
We have also invited our local WIC office to distribute Farmers Market Nutrition Program Vouchers this week. We are hoping to see lots of new and returning faces and have lots of fun!
