2019 Georgia Market Innovation Mini-Grant

Wholesome Wave Georgia (WWG)’s 2019 Market Innovation Mini-Grant is available to current partners of Georgia Fresh For Less. WWG’s mission is to increase access to fresh, healthy, locally-grown food for all Georgians. WWG strengthens local food communities by empowering networks of farmers market and farmers to facilitate access to and awareness of healthy food choices.

2019 MARKET INNOVATION MINI-GRANT IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR GEORGIAL FRESH FOR LESS FARMERS MARKET/FARM PARTNERS TO:
  • Pilot initiatives at their site to increase EBT customer traffic, customer retention, and/or EBT sales generally
  • Create innovative strategies to promote awareness of the Georgia Fresh For Less Program
  • Foster collaboration with local partners who support similar, under-resourced residents
  • Provide stipends for market/farm staff responsible for outreach, fundraising, and/or marketing
ALLOWABLE PROJECTS INCLUDE FUNDS FOR:
  • Community-based events
  • Stipends for staff, volunteers, or interns
  • Market/community-specific advertising materials
  • EBT machine fees


The maximum grant request is $2500.
Since future grant funding cannot be
guaranteed, applicants should consider requests for one-time funding.

Application due date: March 15, 2019

Notification of Award: March 30, 2019

Project Implementation: April 15 – November 30, 2019

Final Reports Due: December 15, 2019
