Call to Action: Tell Congress to Support WIC FMNP

      Posted On: March 18, 2019

Last week, the President’s FY 2020 budget was released, proposing significant cuts to USDA programs, including eliminating funding for the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP).

In response, Representatives Barbara Lee (CA-13) and Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) are leading a letter to demonstrate support for the Program among members of the House. Known as a “Dear Colleague” Letter, this letter will be delivered to the House Agriculture Appropriations Committee to encourage them to include full funding for WIC FMNP in the FY 2020 budget.

Given the vital importance of this program for millions of Americans, we strongly encourage you to contact your House Representative and ask them to sign on today.

The deadline for members of Congress to sign on is March 29th. Below is a sample script you can use to help make contacting your legislators with this request quick and easy. Together, we can stand up for WIC FMNP!
