Farmers Market Legal Toolkits- Survey for Markets on Governance Issues
By: Jen Cheek Posted On: December 4, 2014
The Center for Agriculture and Food Systems (CAFS) at Vermont Law School, Farmers Market Coalition (FMC) and Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) are collaborating to create a Farmers Market Legal Toolkit. This multi-year project will focus on researching complex legal issues facing farmers markets, developing robust resources to assist markets in making legal decisions and disseminating these resources materials. Governance, EBT liabilities and risk management are the three topic areas to be covered over this four-year partnership.
In 2014 and 2015, we will be focusing on the governance topic. We have created a short survey for market organizers (managers, advisors, or board members) to help us better understand your legal needs in this area. This survey is meant to complement other surveys and reports out there on the same subject.
Your response is critical to helping us prioritize issues around farmers market governance! Please complete the survey by Friday, December 12th. The survey will take no more than 10 minutes. Your answers will remain anonymous and the results from the survey will only be shared in aggregate form.
Please follow this link to complete the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FMGovernance-AFRI
Please let us know if you have any questions. Also, if you have resources you would like to make sure we are aware of, please send them our way.
