Congratulations to incumbent, Yescenia Mota who was reelected to another term, and to newly elected FMC Board Members Tasha Ardalan, Lynne Hartford, and Mandy Moody.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to outgoing FMC Board Members Swati Shaw, Hugo Mogollon, Qiana Mickie, and Brian Coppam. Their years of service have helped us navigate unprecedented times for our work, and have also helped to shape FMC into the organization it is today.
After the election, the FMC Board voted on its slate of officers for 2023 with Allen Moy, Yescenia Mota, and Gary Matteson returning as President, Vice President, and Treasurer, respectively. Christie Balch was also newly elected as Secretary.
Congratulations and thanks to FMC’s officers for helping to lead the organization for the next year. We look forward to working together!
Meet Our New Board Members
Tasha Ardalan’s love for her college graduation gift, a corgi puppy with terrible allergies, led her to develop holistic pet products. She quickly went from selling her products at farmers’ markets to becoming a market leader. In 2012, Tasha began a career managing farmers’ markets and coordinating fundraising events across Southern California. Today, Tasha also serves on the 2023 California Small Farms Conference Steering, Workshop, and Awards Committees and joined the California Alliance of Farmers’ Markets Steering Committee at the beginning of this year.
Lynne Hartford is a rural Kansan who recently retired from a career with the Federal Government. Lynne served as executive assistant for Operations Plans and Logistics for the Department of Veterans Affairs, resulting in a deep understanding of government workings. Today, Lynne runs Four Dog Farms and sells at the Emporia Farmers Market.
Mandy Moody, MNA is a purpose-driven, people-focused leader who thrives on turning ideas into action. As a results-driven professional, she balances strategic thinking with innovation to drive continued growth. Decisive and highly-organized, she is adept at bringing order to chaos while exuding a calmness that inspires confidence. Currently, she serves as the Executive Director of Green City Market in Chicago, a nonprofit organization that is securing the future of food by deepening support for sustainable farmers, educating the community, and expanding access to locally-grown food.
