Funding Exhausted for FMC Free SNAP EBT Equipment Program
Posted On: March 30, 2017
In partnership with the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, FMC has connected 1,100 farmers markets and farmers with the equipment needed to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Benefits (SNAP), through the Free SNAP EBT Equipment Program.
Two-hundred-and-thirty additional applicants have been approved since February, and are in the process of selecting their preferred equipment and service provider. With this influx of applicants, we have obligated all of our available funds at this time. More funds may become available soon, so we encourage interested farmers markets and direct marketing farmers to continue to apply at FMCToolbox.org. Applications will be placed on a waitlist, and will be first to access any new funds that become available.
For information on eligibility requirements and equipment options, see our program flyer here. To get on the waitlist for the Free SNAP EBT Equipment Program, apply at FMCToolbox.org. To apply for a SNAP permit or learn about how the USDA is supporting farmers markets and SNAP shoppers, click here.
