Illinois Farmers Market Boot Camp – April 25, 2018
Posted On: March 30, 2018
Farmers Market vendors should plan to attend the Farmers Market Boot Camp offered by Illinois Extension. Vendors and future vendors at farmers markets will be provided an update on cottage food laws and farmers market rules at this year’s Farmers Market Boot Camp.
“There have been some changes in the cottage food laws that allow vendors to sell baked goods at farmers markets in Illinois,” states Grant McCarty, Local Foods and Small Farms Educator. “Each year, we get a lot of calls to the Extension office asking about how to get started selling at a farmers market and will be offering this program to provide assistance for established and new vendors.”
Farmers Market Boot Camp will be offered on Wednesday, April 25, from noon until 1:30 p.m. and again from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Illinois Extension office, 2998 W. Pearl City Road, Freeport, located in the Community Services Building at Highland Community College (use parking lot B). There is no charge to attend but registration is requested and can be completed on line at web.extension.illinois.edu/jsw or by calling (815) 235-4125.
