With a mission to support farmers market operators, FMC’s technical assistance services seek to foster leaders, encourage research, and facilitate the sharing of resources within the farmers market field.
Farmers Market Coalition Technical Assistance (TA) Program is a fee-based consulting service for farmers markets, their partners, and organizations seeking to understand and support them. Our network of advisers and assistance providers, drawn from the field of market organizers, professional consultants, and academic leaders, work at three scales:
- Offering direct assistance to market managers and vendors as they work to make their markets sustainable institutions within their communities
- Partnering with organizations to perform evaluations and analysis on local, regional and national farmers market impacts
- Communicating research and promising practices through presentations and workshops at conferences across the country
By interacting at all levels of farmers market execution, the FMC Technical Assistance Program strengthens local markets, ensuring that their values, successes, and challenges are documented, analyzed, and communicated, and understood by the spectrum of local, state and national stakeholders.
