One-on-One Problem Solving
The Farmers Market Coalition has provided nearly 550 hours of technical assistance and consulting to state and local agencies, state farmers market organizations, independent consultants, and national researchers.
In 2011, FMC provided technical assistance to farmers market partners with CDC’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) in Maine, Florida, Washington, and Arizona. These partners launched new markets, expanded existing markets, and implemented innovative SNAP/EBT outreach campaigns in their cities and towns– all with hands-on guidance from FMC.
In addition, the Farmers Market Coalition has responded to requests for information and resources via phone and email to nearly 600 farmers market managers and organizers around the United States. From recruiting farmers to surveying customers to logistics of SNAP/EBT implementation to board governance to insurance to copyright issues, FMC offers help with a wide variety of issues.
“FMC is a national organization with a human touch. While members like me are busy pulling carrots or putting up canopies, we know that there’s someone looking out for us.”
-Angela Pizelo, Liberty Lake Farmers Market
