Communications Associate

From growing up on a farm owned and operated by her family for five generations, Honesta understands how important support and advocacy for small farmers and sustainable agriculture are to the wellbeing of local communities and economies. At an early age, Honesta developed a personal connection with food production and believes farmers markets provide the best possible way for communities to reconnect with their food by establishing direct relationships with local farmers and vendors who know every detail about what they grow and raise.

Honesta earned her BA in Communications from Penn State University, and after 7 years of financial and project management experience, finally found her passion for working within the vein of food access.  Prior to joining the FMC team, Honesta was a member of consulting staff at The Food Trust, a non-profit located in Philadelphia, PA, where she provided expertise and capacity for multiple projects surrounding healthy food access to schools and homeless shelters.
