Maranda Raskin

Maranda joined the FMC as the Policy Intern in July 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University where she majored in History and minored in Political Science and Field Studies. Throughout college she worked on grassroots campaigns for affordable housing, environmental justice, and racial equity and since graduating she has worked for a civil rights nonprofit organization and on a diversified vegetable farm in Illinois. She is passionate about sustainable food systems and community building as well as their intersections. She sees policy as a crucial tool for systemic change and is excited to advocate for farmers markets and systemic change at the state and federal level.
