Ruth White

Ruth has been involved with some aspect of agriculture her entire life. She was raised on a dairy farm and worked on a pick your own apple orchard. Upon leaving the rural area and moving to the metro area, she has worked for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture the past 18 years to fulfill her passion for agriculture. Her present duties in the Ag Marketing Services Division include farmers market development, assisting in administering the Farmers Market Nutrition Program and provide administrative oversight for 12 commodity council board of directors elections in the State of Minnesota. Ruth takes a great interest in assisting farmers/vendors/municipalities and Chamber of Commerce offices to create farmers markets throughout the state. She has provided assistance and direction in starting the Minnesota Farmers’ Market Association (MFMA). She is a past board of director on the National Association of Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, presently serves on the MFMA board as an advisor and is on the Minnesota Food Association Board.
