Greetings from the Downtown Salt Lake City Farmers Market! We’re taking over FMC’s Instagram this week to share with you a look into our market. The market is loved by our community, and for good reason!  As a new “visitor”, there are a few things you ought to know to fully appreciate the market that surrounds you. 

The Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City is celebrating its 27th season of providing opportunities for the community to support their local food economy. The Market—with more than 200 food vendors and 100 art & craft vendors—offers a unique variety of farmers, growers, bakeries, prepared food and beverages, packaged foods and local artisans. Each Saturday from 8AM – 2PM, June – October, Pioneer Park is transformed with thousands of hungry patrons, hard-working farmers and some furry friends for good measure.

Thanks to the hard work of our staff, farmers and the community, our market attracts an average of 10,000 weekly attendees. We tell the story of our farmers and highlight our vendors’ products through Facebook, Twitter and most importantly Instagram where our 25K followers engage with us and learn about our programs. We also love working with our community partners to help spread the word about our market.

In addition to the Saturday Farmers Market, we also host a Tuesday Farmers Market during the harvest season, which is perfect for all of your mid-week grocery needs. As well as a Winter Market inside the historic Rio Grande Train Depot. There is a huge demand for locally sourced produce and goods in our city, and we’re pleased to offer them year-round. The Downtown Farmers Market also accepts SNAP/EBT, helps to fund farms through our micro-grant program and as of two years ago has eliminated all plastic bags while educating our customers on how to properly recycle.
