Are you a farmer, producer or manager of a farmers’ market in New Jersey?

If so, there are two conferences in the next month geared to your needs.

On Thursday, March 22 from 9:30 am to 3 pm, the West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market will host a gathering of farmers’ market stakeholders with the purpose of market match-making, networking, round-table discussions and dissemination of information about marketing itself.

The event will take place at the Windsor Athletic Club, 99 Clarksville Road in West Windsor. Registration is required and can be accomplished at Event Brite: 2018njfarmersmarketconference.eventbrite.com. The cost is $20; a promotional code for farmers and producers interested in attending can be obtained, and general questions answered, by contacting West Windsor Market Manager Chris Cirkus at manager@westwindsorfarmersmarket.org or calling 609-933-4452.

In addition, on Wednesday, April 4, the Ironbound Community Corporation Down Bottom Farms in Newark will host the Urban Farmers’ Market Conference from 11 am to 3:30 pm at the Ironbound Early Learning Center, 1 New York Avenue in Newark.

What’s on tap here? Farmers and producers who sell at markets in urban communities will share information and experiences and offer practical guidance on successful urban marketing. Federal and state agency representatives will be on hand to sign up eligible farmers and markets for EBT and to discuss food assistance programs.

The event is free, but seating is limited and identification required for EBT signup.

To register and for more information, e-mail atrujillo@ironboundcc.org or call 609-577-5133 or visit njurbanfarmersmarketconference.bpt.me. For questions on EBT signup, please e-mail Joni.Garcia@fns.usda.gov.
