Wasted! The Story of Food Waste

In celebration of National Farmers’ Market Week, Texas Farmers’ Market and Austin Resource Recovery, are proud to present a screening of Wasted! The Story of Food Waste at Austin Film Society. Following the screening on August 7th, there will be a panel discussion with Joe Diffie of Joe’s Organics, Tim Welch of Emmer & Rye, Jessica Brown of TFM’s composting program and Gena McKinley of Austin Resource Recovery, moderated by Kate Payne, the Executive Director of TFM.
Executively produced by Anthony Bourdain, Wasted! aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the the eyes of chef-heroes like Bourdain, Dan Barber, Massimo Bottura and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. All ticket sales proceeds go to Texas Farmers Market’s Farmer & Rancher Emergency Fund.
